Alexander Isak moving to Tottenham? You’re having a laugh

Well what can you say after Tottenham Hotspur were thrashed once again by Newcastle United at St James’ Park.

I was confident beforehand that we would beat Spurs.

Although they have played some decent football this season and are placed above us in the Premier League table, I have never really been convinced about Ange Postecoglu’s side’s top four credentials.

I’ve noticed that Spurs fans are also starting to ask questions which is hardly surprising.

We were once linked with Timo Werner and thank god nothing came of that. James Maddison, who is good, decided to revert to his usual antics of behaving like a big girl’s blouse.

Anthony Gordon and goalscorer Alexander Isak ripped apart the Spurs defence for our opener.

I hadn’t even got back in my seat in the club before Flash had made it 2-0. The Spurs defence looked shellshocked and everyone could sense that there was another drubbing on the cards.

Two other fine goals were added to our tally in the second period and this result will have reverberated from Sunderland to Salford.

Since the inauguration of the Premier League we have given Spurs some right batterings at St James’ Park.

It has been 7-1, 6-1, 5-1 and two 4-0s all springing to mind. We also beat them 6-1 in an FA Cup replay in 1999.

I hope this result and the performance of Alexander Isak shuts the likes of Talksport’s Jamie O’Hara and the southern based media in general up.

There is no way that Isak would even contemplate a move to Tottenham.

All of this recent spiel about Spurs being an attractive destination for Alexander Isak is just wild and pure wishful thinking, from dafties who actually think that Spurs are a big club.

They may well be one of the Septic Six but they are quite welcome to their Daniel Levy, Joe Lewis and ENIC Group.

Newcastle United have the might and wealth of the Saudi PIF and we will see our day with the self-entitled clubs (Amanda Staveley even referenced Spurs along with Liverpool after the initial collapse of the takeover in 2020, citing their jealousy).

Elsewhere and Manchester United had to come back twice in a 2-2 draw with Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium.

That ensured that we leapfrogged them into 6th place on behalf of our far superior goal difference.

We have a canny run-in and it now looks like a two horse race for the Europa League spot.

It would be great to go to Old Trafford and put them in their places by winning down there again this season.

We now have a little break in proceedings before our next game against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on the 24th of April.

The rest will be welcomed by Eddie and the boys. The Toon are beginning to click into gear and all we have to do is relax and just take one game at a time in our quest for Europe.
