The season continues to roll along, and the fight for the 3 remaining playoff spots are really close. This weeks Fantasy Football Spotlight goes to the previous champions. We have the 2016 Champion Michael Ponzo going up again 2017, and current champion Joel “el cucoy” Angulo.
After an abysmal start from his flex Rashaad Penny netting him only 4.6 yards on 46 rushing yards. WIth not much on his bench, he was hoping the Seattle run would include more touches for Penny. His other two options Marvin Jones Jr, and Keke Coutee are questionable with injuries.
Joel is going to rely heavily on RB Todd Gurley II. Gurley has been on a tear this season. He has a total of 13 touchdowns, and three 2-point conversions this season in 10 games. Going up a Kansas City defense that has done some what decent as of late. However expect Gurley to go off this Monday night in Los Angeles
Ponzo had a great start this Thursday night with Devante Adams netting him 21.6 points on 166 Rec yds, with 10 rec. Not a bad fantasy line even after taking an exciting game, and a tough road loss for Green Bay. The road continues to haunt Aaron Rodgers and the Packers.
The rest of the week is looking pretty solid for Ponzo with the exception of Andrew Luck going up a solid Tennessee defense that recently shutdown Tom Brady ( Joels other QB). His other option is Big Ben, going up a Jacksonville defense that welcomes big wide receiver match-ups.
Javier Perez vs Anthony Magee. commissioner Javi is looking to stay alive in the playoff hunt against Anthony who has been on a 5 week win streak. Anthony has been the only one to put a blemish on Armando’s near perfect season, beating him 107.44 to 93.74 back in week 7.
Javier has had an up and down season and looks to rely on a big day on Monday night as the two most explosive offenses come to Los Angeles since the field issues in Mexico. Look to see at least 5 of us at the game, Javi, Steve, Mario, Ponzo and Hery will be at the game.
Have a great week and don’t forget to drop a like underneath this post, and register for the site.
