Official Newcastle United injury update – 12 missing for Tottenham match, possibly 13

An official Newcastle United injury update on Friday morning.

Eddie Howe speaking to journalists.

The NUFC Head Coach speaking after picking up seven points from a possible nine in the space of a week.

Plus of course now, Eddie Howe hoping to now pick up a big three points at St James’ Park against Tottenham on Saturday afternoon.

Eddie Howe giving this Newcastle United injury update on Friday morning:

“The closest player to coming back [from those who missed Fulham] would be Tino Livramento.

“He has not trained with the team but has been out on the grass.

“Lewis Hall has not trained at all this week, so he is a slight concern from last week.

“Other players are doing well in the background so I am hoping in the not-too-distant future we can get three or four back.

“Joe Willock has been to see another specialist to check on the progress of his Achilles, which has been problematic for him.

“He has had a few complications through the process.

“The feedback was positive generally, in respect that it is healing, but it will fluctuate from time to time.

“For Tottenham, I’m not sure, I probably think he won’t be available for us.

“There’s a chance then he will be available for us for the rest of the season but that’s slightly unclear.

“We need to make sure the long-term for him is positive so that may mean some short-term rest.”

Eddie Howe confirming to an extent what we saw late on Wednesday, when the club released that day’s training images. The likes of Hall, Livramento and Willock nowhere to be seen.

Unless Eddie is hiding some nice surprises, Newcastle against Tottenham look set to be without Sandro Tonali, Nick Pope, Callum Wilson, Joelinton, Kieran Trippier, Tino Livramento, Lewis Miley, Miguel Almiron, Jamaal Lascelles, Sven Botman, Matt Targett and Joe Willock.

Whilst Lewis Hall could possibly join them on the sidelines on Saturday at St James’ Park.

So once again, it looks like at the very least a full team of first team squad players missing once again.

The one big positive is that Eddie Howe states that he is hoping ‘in the not-too-distant future we can get three or four back’ into the available first team squad.

After Tottenham, there are 11 days until the away match at Palace, with six games in three and a half weeks to finish off the season. So everything crossed that those who are available against Spurs can get the job done, then possibly a few reinforcements back for that final stretch.
